The 2017 Maxima has been framed with a lowered aggressive stance for an externally sculpted and streamlined appearance ready for flight at a moment’s notice. It comes fitted with dual mufflers sporting chrome-tipped exhaust finishers for that refined sports car presentation. Nissan’s engineering went full length to sculpt Maxima’s defining character lines using a specially-developed metal-stamping technique for a sharp fighter-jet imprint along the body and doors. Maxima’s floating roof was inspired by the canopy of a fighter jet, with the main pillars being blended into the glass giving the appearance of the roof hovering over the cabin.
Also to note is Maxima’s dynamic handling which provides a lower, lighter and tighter driving experience than previous the previous generation. Maxima doesn’t just turn corners, it takes ownership of them. The rear suspension is tuned with monotube dampers for high-end performance only found on sports cars. The Platinum trim takes handling to the next level with stiffer springs, an optimized front stabilizer bar, 19″ aluminum-alloy wheels and an Integrated Dynamics-control Module (IDM)
